Established in 1886 and also the first public library in Dakota Territory, Howard Library provides the community with free, open and equal access to general information on a broad array of topics; resources to promote personal growth and lifelong learning; popular materials to meet cultural and recreational needs; and the training to find, evaluate and use information effectively.

Thanks to a partnership with Driving Tests.org the Howard Public Library is proud to offer practice tests to students preparing for their South Dakota Drivers Permit. Click on the icon to visit our exclusive website, where you can choose from several different permit tests. No library card number or personal information is needed! This resource is also great for anyone looking to brush up on their knowledge of South Dakota traffic laws or needing their license renewed.
